Have you considered?

Every quarter, Beachbody hosts events all over the country and in Cananda, called Super Saturday. Dallas just happens to hold them on Sundays. It is a time when we are given the latest and greatest of Beachbody updates. Such as upcoming products, new workout programs, other events, you name it. No matter where you are located, we all watch a great video made by corporate. It also contains a bit of training and advice from top coaches and amazing stories of inspiration. Along with this, each individual site does their own "thing". Dallas is spoiled. We have a lot of the top coaches so receive excellent events every time around. Two of 2014's top coaches were here, as well as EVP of Network Marketing, Michael Neimand. THEN we got training from 3 EXCELLENT coaches are how to better people in general, take a freaking chance and help others. INVALUABLE information. I have been attending these events for over two years, by myself. I don't care. They are usually about 1000 people but this time around they split Dallas and Ft. Worth so it was more like 500. I got to REPRESENT in our new team shirts! Was so excited! My friend and fellow coach made them. As we continue to grow, we continue to order more. That makes me happy.
I also had my first coach attend with me. I always say live events change everything. They do. She got it. She saw it. That is the idea. We heard stories that would just make you want to do this now, but that would mean you had to take my word for it. Not everyone does. The most inspiring story was of the family, whose husband had MS and they were so broke their electricity was shut off then they were kicked out of their home. They had the pics to prove it. Homeless. They found a dirt cheap motel where the moved. The husband found a copy of P90X. He started to do it on his knees because that is all the mobility he had. Video showed this. As he continued to exercise, his mobility increased. He was then able to do more. At first the wife was not happy. She said "I wanted him to be miserable like me". "Misery loves company". BUT then she thought "WHY NOT?" She started insanity. Crowded motel room, their home and overweight. She started to share her story, people were watching and could relate. She was making changes. They were introduced to the coaching opportunity, from someone like me, who just said "have you considered". So, they considered it. Then did it. And now are kicking ass and taking names. THIS PROVIDES. This helps people want to get healthy AND have a future for their family. #truestory I cried a lot that day. It was a lot to take in but so much more to take out. This is the real deal of impact and joy. I am proud of what I do. THE FUN PART? We got a preview of Cize, Shaun T's new workout program coming out in July. IT WAS FUN! And yes, anyone can do it. Even me who can't dance to save my life!
As a coach do we get perks? You bet we do. This was just a small one. Don't settle. Dont watch someone else live their life. Don't be jealous. Make a life of your own. ANYONE can do this. And yes I say it all the time Proof is in the paragraph above. Let me know how I can help.

Beachbody 3 day refresh review

I have done the 3 day refresh before. Maybe twice. I have also attempted twice and failed. I made it this time and it was SO needed after Cancun. I lost about 7 pounds and 1.5 inches off of my waist. Don't get excited, I had EXTRA weight I had not had in a LONG TIME. It needed it to come off. What is the refresh? It is 3 days of three daily shakes, a fiber drink, plenty of water and a variety of fruits and vegetables and healthy fats you have throughout the day to keep your energy and metabolism going. It is a great way to drop a few pounds, break those bad habits and GREAT detox. The booklet that comes with the 3 day refresh explains everything. You have to read it. You can't just "jump right in". Like with anything you start, you have to prepare. You drink a shakeology every morning (with fruit), then mid-morning have a fiber sweep. Chug it. That is all you do is just chug it. It is designed to naturally eliminate the waste from your digestive system. Then for lunch you get a veggie and healthy fat and vanilla fresh and a fruit. I added nutmeg to mine for some added flavor. YUM! There are lists in the book of free items that you can have while doing this. Nutmeg was my friend! The Vanilla Fresh shake is designed to help satisfy hunger and deliver the essential nutrition your body needs for healthy weight loss. It is dairy and soy free. The booklet goes into GREAT detail about what specifi ingredients are in the Vanilla Fresh and Fiber Sweep.
In the afternoon you get a vegetable alternative and healthy fat. Again, the book says it all. Tells you how much of each item. I did hummus and veggies (I LOVE HUMMUS) but one day the hubs took it to work so went with Spinach and coconut oil one day.
Then finally in the evening, you get another Vanilla fresh and a dinner from one of the many recipes suggested. It is all veggies prepared various ways. It was not easy but it is THREE DAYS. You need to kick start? This is a great way. To you need to get rid of crap like I did? Here you go. Beachbody did extensive research to find a safe healthy way for you to do a cleanse. IT WORKS!

Healthy eating made a little easier

In Cancun, I ate and drank horribly. It made me worse than I was before. I have a lot of work to do to get back to where I was. I KNOW what to do, it is doing it. I always tell people I work with that meal prep is key. I might blog about 1000 more times. You have to have the food prepped and on hand to make those healthier choices. These are just a few of the items I got at the store when we got home.
You basically want items on the outer isles of the grocery store. Stay away from the middle isles. That is where the processed food it and causes us to eat "not so well". You want REAL food. Fruits, veggies, meats, eggs, plain yogurt, nuts, sweet potatoes. Just a few staples we always have. THEN prep work. Wash the fruits and veggies. You can even have them portioned out so they are ready for a snack or to add to a meal. I do the same with my meat. I cook it all at once and have it ready to grab and go. Sweet potatoes are the same. My husband boils eggs by the 5 dozen. I have talked about these before. It makes your life SO much easier, quicker, and most importantly, healthier. My son eats so much fruit I already had to do a restock. So I buy a ton and wash it.
THEN I take the grapes off the stems and cut up the strawberries. I can do this and listen to personal development. Kill two birds with one stone!
READY, SET, GO! When we eat better we FEEL better. And there are tons of ways to make a variety of healthy recipes. ME? I wish I was more of a cook. I am pretty boring. But if I am eating well, I am taking care of me. I hope this helps That is my purpose. Take a bit of time each wee to food prep! Your body and mind will thank you for it!

Cancun Trip - Thank you Beachbody!

I might just be the world's worst blogger. I write like I talk and sometimes my thoughts are jumbled together. I just want to share what I feel. So I share. =) We just returned home yesterday from a 5 day trip to Cancun, staying at a 5 star resort, on Beachbody. Just because I took a chance almost 3 years ago. AND set a small goal every month to help a few people with their health and fitness. This Beachbody "thing" changed my life. It is going to need to change it again after this trip! All inclusive means all inclusive! I got to take my family and spend quality time with them. Playing in the pool, on the beach, choosing which restaurant where we were going to eat. I mean serious fun in the sun. And I found out my son is an awesome beach volleyball player at the age of 7!
I got to spend time with my fellow coaches. People I "see" on social media all the time but don't get to spend a lot of time with. Even one girl, who I have known for two years and feel like I have known her all of my life, met for the first time. It was crazy insanely amazing. This is what happens. You develop relationships with like minded people. Share goals and drive. Just by wanting to help others do the same.
Every morning we were there, they had scheduled workouts. Autumn Calabrese (creator of the 21 day fix), Tony Horton and Shaun T. 3 45 minute workouts each day. They were each at different times each day. I got to hit them all and even one day stayed for a second workout. THAT is when Shaun T came up to me and my friend Jaime. Pushing us to push through. It was SUCH a rush. I mean bad ass. I have it on video too! I will never forget that!
There were a couple of parities but I ended up just chilling with my family most of the time. When we go on these type of vacations that is what we do. I don't want to have to get dressed up and ready. BUT one night I did get to wear my super fun romper. Courtesy of my favorite local boutique, Firefly AND wear my Hannah Iris necklaces.
The rest of the time it was chillaxin. So, I write this so people can see the possibilities. Every coach there was just a person. A person that wanted to make a change to themselves and then make a change for others. VERY few have any kind of background in fitness at all. We are all pretty much the "same" even though we are different. ANYONE can do this. If you are not happy, make a decision. I had to make a very hard decision today to take control again of me. I know the letting yourself go part. Even as a coach. No one is perfect. You don't have to be in perfect shape, or know all of the answers. I sure as heck don't! If you are ever interested in wanting more, let me know. Would you not like to take your family on a free trip?? And maybe just have some freedom and be healthier in general????

Transformation Tuesday

Transformation Tuesday: I went to High School with Janet. We lost touch for many many years. This is her story. She told me she began intentionally working out at the Y and eating healthier in June 2013, she saw I was doing a your free push up challenge in August...lost around 30 lbs. The breast cancer diagnosis came in October; surgery in November; radiation January thru March. We kept in touch, I saw her struggle and how brave she was. I also would tell her about Shakeology every other day. smile emoticon She began drinking it AND then pushed play on p90x April 14th. Did not know what the X stood for, but soon found out. She has completed multiple rounds of P90X and 21 Day Fix, and one round of P90X3. Have lost somewhere around 55 lbs and 20.25 inches. And just keeps going. She is kind obsessed with Tony Horton (in a good way), and has abs of steel. I tell her she is my greatest success story because she has done group after group with me, has the most positive attitude and work ethic. She helps me rally the other troops when needed, and is such a gift in my life. I mean she sent ME someting for my trip to Cancun when I should be thanking her. She became my friend again most importantly. Calls me when I am down, and is a gift from God. Please help me celebrate Janet with her one year Beachbody journey!

Battle Frog Dallas

On Saturday, my husband and I did the Battle Frog in the Dallas area. If you don't know what it is, it is a run/obstacle course designed by Navy Seals. OH. MY. GOSH. I trained. And trained hard. Lots of T25, Insanity Max 30 and Asylum. Thanks Shaun T! BUT, I was Still pretty much out of commission yesterday. Tired, sore, bruised from head to toe. It was also the biggest rush ever. To do that with my husband? TOGETHER? It was so so so awesome. This particular race was supposed to be 15K but they changed it to 8K. That was enough for us. What is crazy is there are a group called Elite. They just do the course over and over and over again. Made me feel like a lazy bum! BUT, I did obstacles and things I NEVER THOUGHT I would do. I mean mind blowing. Apparently I am afraid of heights because some of these obstacles were so hight it scared the crap out of me. BUT, I threw my leg over and carried on. I did this monkey bar thing with my feet across water I never ever thought possible. I had just finished reading You Are a Badass that is exactly how I felt Saturday.
I felt a connection to my husband I had not felt in a long time. It was so amazing. We said we found a new date thing to do! Yesterday I said I would never do it again. BUT, when I look back at what I accomplished, I believe I will reconsider. We are registered for the Tough Mudder in October. The mud doesn't bother us. You just take a shower.
After the race you get a free beer. Just one, then you have to buy them. We like good beer, so with the selection being limited, just had one. And we laughed at how far the beer tent was from the race. It was like more work to get there. I mean you ucan hardly see the start and finish line! BUT, all of us were doing it. You know that beer tasted GREAT and was well deserved.
I loved doing this. I loved the confidence it gave me. Never would I have done this 3 years ago. I have gained such strength and cofindence that I feel I can do whatever I want. I don't let fear hold me back. I do struggle with self confidence like a lot of women but the minute a bad thought gets inside my head, I make it go away. We are capable of SO MUCH MORE THAN WE REALIZE. You have the potential!

Social Media

I shared this on my Facebook page so wanted to share here too. Being that it is my blog, I guess I can write what I want? We all can. =) Have an amazing weekend! Social media is so interesting. I mean, it is how I do my job, so I see a lot. Two posts I have seen in the past couple of days. "I am not paying for it, I want it for free" Don't. We. All. Then someone bashing someone for being pregnant and healthy. And I know I have been blocked and unfriended because of my "annoying" posts because I want to help people? Lots of people share workout pictures. Lots of people use social media to promote ALL kinds of businesses. SOCIAL MEDIA IS OUR WORLD THESE DAYS. Almost to the point I need to be slapped around and remind myself to live my life. Yes, I own that. Because of social media I found something that changed my life. I am able to educate myself, learn, grow, meet new amazing people. I learned to change MYSELF. Cause it doesn't change on its own. It is not free, and it doesn't happen by sitting there. Don't hate on others. It is not nice, be happy for them and their success. I had to change my mind, I am always working on my body. Shoot. I share what I do two-fold. I am affiliated with something that is powerful and giving. Fitness, nutrition and accountability. I also am able to make a living doing something I love instead of going to a job I hate. I mean, in a few days I am going on a trip to Cancun because I plugged in and helped others. Life is not always easy. There are things that happen that are out of our control. The more I have God in my life, the more I know it is going to be OK no matter what. I also know he gave us free will so I have to do my part. Work on change. Work on your heart. Be kind to others. Work on your life. Have a goal. I am going to post this before I get too chicken and delete it. And in the words of the author of You are a Badass, Love yourself.

It is a journey

There was an article by Tony Horton today that talked about people who will give up after a week or two of starting a new program because they don't seevresults right away. Like he said, it is called P90X for a reason. It is a 90 day program for a reason. It takes TIME. We sure as heck did not gain weight overnight (although sometimes it feels like it!) we are not going to lose it overnight. It is a journey. It is a lifestyle. It is a PROCESS. It is making a commitment and making it a no matter what. It is CHANGING your nutrition. It is fighting every single day. Surrounding yourself with people who support you.
I am a human being like the rest of the world. I mess up. I struggle with it too. I KNOW what to do sometimes I make a different choice. But I am aware, it is a choice. I can't complain if I eat the burger vs my veggies. It is taking responsibily, owning it and moving on. I will ALWAYS be a work in progress. I will ALWAYS be on this journey. It is a crazy ride but it is the life given to me! Embrace it and own it! If you want me to help you with your journey, let's go!

Sugar & Yogurt, Yogurt & Sugar

Did you know sugar is more addicting than herion or cocaine? Isn't that crazy? In the past few months, I have listened to a lot of podcasts, read, etc on sugar. It is dangerous. It is what is causing the obesity trend in America. It is no longer fat free, or low fat. Check out the sugar content in those items versus the non fat free blown one. I did this at my mom's house over the holidays. I looked at her fat free salad dressing and my dad's ranch (he loves ranch). The ranch had a lot less sugar. Don't get me wrong I LOVE sugar. I mean who doesn't? But I bet we would all love drugs too if we tried them. eek! So I have not had yogurt in ages. I don't know why. Cause I am random. I went on the search today for some. I found Goat's milk yogurt. 7 grams of sugar in one serving which was about a cup. Some of them had like 33 grams of sugar. I thought yogurt was good for us! Isn't it weird? I am learning more and more every day. No, I am not an expert, but I am learning things and like to share them with people. SO, back to the goat yougurt. I had some with two packets of stevia and some almonds. GREAT snack! If you are wanting to get rid of that waistline, cut out the sugar! It helps! ENJOY!

Offering a Solution

I hope you had an amazing Easter celebrating with your family. Such an important day! I did a lot of learning this weekend. Sometimes I just need to. To be reminded of why I do what I do and WHY I share it. I don't know everything. I don't ridicule someone if they do something different than me. I am always learning and you bet always messing up. That is part of the journey. I have learned that exercise is not the enemy. It is for my mental clarity. If I want results then I need to not be "on a diet" but "have a diet". It is a lifestyle and about balance. Sometimes that balance gets WAY off track. You then learn to get back up. I did not create Beachbody, but it sure as heck works for me. FITNESS, NUTRITION, ACCOUNTABILITY. If I were to try a new restaurant, I am going to tell my friends about it. If I find a new store, will tell you about it too. So why would I not tell you about this kick butt way to get it in gear. To be Me-sponsible? (Can't take credit, one of my group members shared it with our group). Accountablity groups work. You have to take charge. Sometimes that is HARD. I KNOW. Again why group support is helpful. People will say they need to lose weight and then don't do anything. If you are happy, then you are happy! Rock on! But if you are not happy, then yes, it is an investment. So is opening a franchise, shopping for clothes, drive thrus. (and think about buying a size smaller clothes) Think about your RETURN on investment. Did you ever think of that? I made an investment 3 years ago. At the time we had to make choices to get Shakeology. Chic fil A was a few times a week thing (and dang I still love it, just don't go there near as often). One of the smartest investments and changes ever made. smile emoticon Give me 30 days. Private facebook group. Support from others in the same boat. Beachbody workout and Shakeology. We will figure it out together. Let me help you show you your own ability.
Here are some of my current group memebers and what it has done for them: ShakeO has done amazing things for my hair. I haven't been sick once since I began drinking it even though my family has been. Thirdly, it is also an easy meal to make at home or on the road that fills me up.BB programs have changed my lifestyle for the better. My favorite is p90x out of what I have tried. P90x3 is second. I think Tony Horton is the best at what he does. Accountability groups keep me motivated. They challenge me to try new things, think out of my box, and take on challenges that I wouldn't alone. Shakeology is one of the best things ever. Since I've starting drinking it my psoriasis has almost cleared up. Also I don't have cravings like I did before. I haven't been sick either since I've been drinking it. There is so many other great things about it I could go on forever. I only have a few bb programs but like them each for different reasons. The 21 day fix is a great fast workout when time is limited. Insanity makes me feel so accomplished when I finish a workout. It pushes me to my limit and I love it. Accountability groups are great!! When I'm having a sluggish don't wanna exercise kinda day I can get on the group and see that everyone else is pushing themselves which motivates me to get moving. I also have learned new recipes and products that'll help me get to my goal. A group literally changed my life. How do you think I got here? Let's go We have work to do, which, yes includes me. Make you matter. Contact me at kricarroll@gmail.com, or find me on Facebook!

Be Different

I shared this on my facebook page today and just felt compelled to share here. Someone might read this and feel OK being themselves. It is not about being negative. It is TRYING to stay positive and your mind plays tricks on you. I am rooting for you to be OK. It started last night. I get this severe anxiety out of nowhere. I thought I will just go to bed. It woke me at up 5. It is like you can't breathe. Racing thoughts, almost paranoia. I did not ask for this. Just like someone does not ask for a health issue. You pray that it does not consume you but it does. It is painful and it hurts. I am open about it because it is who I am. So yes, I am different. I am very different. The more I accept it the more I am able to live my life as normal as I can. I have a supportive husband who accepts me. And when I get like this just says to think of 10 things that are good. So that is what I did. Then I did a devotional. Then I went and broke a sweat. Be who you are. Don't try to be something or someone else.

Sweet potatoes

Who is ready for the weekend? Being Good Friday, I must just reflect on the fact we are here because of God's love. What an amazing amazing thing!! Now I talk sweet potatoes. I never had one until I did a figure competition in December. I started traninig hard in September. Sweet potatoes were a staple. I cannot believe I had never had one before. I was always used to the way Grandma made them at Thanksgiving with butter, brown sugar and marshmallows, and for whatever reason, that did not appeal to me. No clue why. Now I love them. The are YUMMY. I prep them ALL the time to have on hand. (as food prep is key) They are high in vitamin B6 and a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin D, iron, magnesium, a source of potassium and high in carotenoids. ALL of these provide health benefits, and can prevent a simple cold or disease. We have to keep in mind that food is our first source of medicine. Sweet potatoes are now a staple in my home!!
I should be more creative in how I make them but I just slice them up and add random spices. It depends on my mood. And for you, would depend on which spices you enjoyed. Sometimes I like them super spicy like a cayenne pepper or sometimes with garlic salt and onion powder. Or Curry powder! You can get crazy. I then portion them out into containers about 4 oz each. Believe me, I could eat the entire tray! I am not a super creative cook, I just don't bother. But I do try and eat as clean as possible. (and no I am NOT PERFECT) as my waistline will show. BUT I am learning. And will continue to do so! Have a very blessed Easter!
