Shakeology. Do you know about it? It changed everything for me, even when I had no clue as to what it was. When I noticed the change and became a coach, I began to study it. Learn how to read the ingredients list. What all natural meant. How it compared to other shakes. Why it is the best. No soy, no artificial flavors or sweetners. Website, workshops, book and phone calls. I know it. It turned 6 yesterday. The creator, Darin Olien, is known as the Super Food hunter. And that is just it, it, it has Super Foods in it that help us live longer, be healthier. The ingredients are from around the world, literally. He travels to remote locations and finds plant based ingredients, all natural, and incorporated them into Shakeology. Antioxidants, pre and pro biotics, phytonutrients, digestive enzymes, all of our vitamins and minerals and fruit and vegetable servings. It is literally your daily dose of dense nutrition. So what does this mean? Well you drink it every single day and it helps with weight loss, reduces cravings, increases energy, improves digestion, improves your health. You are literally protecting your immune system. I have drank it for 3 years and don't get sick. It is clinically proven to help reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels. It helps cure autoimmune diseases. Yes, for real. I know people with severe RA that are now in remission. Fibromyalgia. Aches and pains. It is liquid gold. It is the best investment in my nutrition I have ever made. It makes it easy. No, this does not allow us to eat crap the rest of the day, but it helps with the balance of it. Nutrition simplified. If you want more info please let me know! I would be glad to hook you up with some yummy shakeology. Cause I have an entire Pinterest page dedicated to recipes alone!

DC trip

Blogging is harder than I thought. Does anyone read it? Why do I do it? Maybe it will capture someone! So I will keep pushing away. Last week was my son's spring break. We spent a couple of days in Washington DC. My husband I lived there many years ago and LOVED it. I went back because a friend needed me. I like to think of myself as a good friend. She needed her spirits lifted and it had just been too darn long since I had been back. I also got to see other friends as well. It was so great.
Most of the live in Northern Virginia so we took advantage and went and saw the Air and Space museum out by Dulles. To see the Space Shuttle THAT up close and personal, with my son, was bad ass. LOT of history there. He was bored after about one hour. Probably tired too as we literally went after we landed.
After our visit with our awesome friends, we headed into DC. I would move back in a minute. Why is it soo expensive? I got to see our old stomping grounds. We lived in Georgetown. BEST TIME EVER! Sent pics to daddy and taught my some history. His name is Lincoln so the Lincoln memorial was extra special. It moved me. The Washington Monument, White House, World War II Memorial (which I had never seen), Museum of Natural History. We covered A LOT in a day and a half. He was a trooper and can hail a cab better than a grown up. I was blessed to have this time with him. He is a daddy's boy. Getting away with him reminded me of what is important. My job allows me to be able to up and leave. THAT is awesome. I need to be reminded to enjoy things. Cause my brain likes to work against me. I love our pictures. They make me smile. I hope you enjoy them as well. =)

food matters

I was pretty open today on my Facebook page. I usually am. I stopped for awhile for fear of what others might think. It has been a rough 3 months for me. No more lying or excuses. My son and I went to DC for a few days to visit friends. We used to live there and someone needed me more than I needed to be a tool. It was good to see old friends and get away. He got to see DC for the first time. what fun it was. Fun to have that time with him and gain some perspective. SO, I came back and realized I need to work on me. No more eating and drinking my sorrows away. Plus I have a Beachbody trip in April and need to get my butt in shape again. Before photos today, hard to see. I was in amazing shape just in December. Is it health issues? Not sure, waiting to go to dr Friday for results but I have not done my part very well. We all rely on food too much for comfort. Then we get deflated. I made this dinner tonight and it was yummy. It doesn't have to taste bad or be bad. We choose to complain instead of doing something about it. Today was just day one but I am getting my head out of my ass. I have to. Don't give up. We are worth it.

A necklace

It is just a necklace. But it is a pretty cool one. Designed by my friend, hannahiris.com. To me it means a lot more today. I am packing for a trip to DC. We used to live there years ago and I miss it. And a friend needs me. I am taking my son and he gets to meet my friend's kids. Boy have times changed! My Purdue clan, I am excited to see those I can. I am packing CLOTHES. Not sweatpants, or workout clothes, but CLOTHES. Sometimes you need to step away and take a breather. I pray that this helps recharge the batteries and motivates me again. Laughing, friendship and a necklace. Have a GREAT weekend!

21 Day Fix Turkey Meatballs (extreme approved)

I made these yesterday after I saw a friend make them and they are SOO good! I am so bad about cooking and need to get more creative. I doubled the batch so we have plenty on which to eat the next few days. Non stick cooking spray (I used coconut oil cooking spray found at Whole Foods) 1 1/2 pounds 93% lean ground turkey breast 1 tsp sea salt or Himalayan salt 1 tsp dry mustard 1 tsp smoked paprika 1 large egg, lightly beaten 3/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats (I left these out) 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (I just used minced) 12 fresh parsley snips, finely chopped 2 TBSP tomato sauce, no sugar added 1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees 2. Lightly coat large baking sheet with spray, set aside 3. Combine turkey, salt, mustard, paprika, eggs, oats, garlic, parsley, and tomato sauce in a large bowl; mix well by hand. 4. Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs and put on sheet 5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until no longer pink in the middle 21 Day Fix, per serving, 1 red, 1/2 yellow (with oats)

sweat

I have not written in a few days because I have not felt well. Who am I kidding, I have not felt well in a very long time. The idea of the blog was to keep it positive and motivating because who wants to come to some strangers blog and find her a buzz kill. I USUALLY am positive and very uplifting but for the past several months there have been changes that I cannot explain. I don't sleep. It causes LOTS of problems. If affects everything. I know how to be healthy and what it takes to be healthy. Since becoming a coach I love to learn and read to try to help others. I know that feeling of needing help. Like I do again now. I went to my third dr again today . They took 10 vials of blood. This one is a hormone specialist. See, I am also bipolar and all of the sudden my pills stopped working. They used to help me sleep and feel better and then just stopped. So, thinking it might be hormones. I have thinning hair at the scalp too. Great right? I cry a lot and try SO hard to remain upbeat. I have lost my joy and really fighting to get it back. I am also trying to be a wife, mom and good coach but it hard. Being healthy? What a fight. I have had rapid weight gain too. Embarrassing to say the least. Lack of sleep and then I don't help. I can be super healthy for days and then go off the wall. I admit it. I don't try and hide it. I am trying to start from scratch with meds. Trying to see what the bloodwork with say (this time). One thing that has stayed a constant? Exercise. I know crazy. I feel good when I sweat. I get to escape for a moment. I may not always enjoy every moment, but I did today. After another terrible night I drug myself to hot yoga. Mostly I do my workouts at home but sometimes I need to get out. I needed it today. That is why I took the photo cause I felt like smiling. Don't worry I am not always a buzz kill. Even like I feel the world is against me I know God has this trial for a reason. I keep going right? As much as I want to give up I can't. Neither can you.
